Afrochic is a modern African fashion line inspired by my loving mum Luina Maole.
Afrochic brings the elegance of the kitenge (a vibrant, colourful traditional African fabric) and introduces modern African designs to the world. Each Afrochic piece is carefully crafted by hand to bring joy and stand out of the crowd.
Afrochic connects me to my roots. It is not just a fashion brand but is a platform that celebrates African culture and provides sustainable employment to artisans based in Tanzania. Our goal is to share the uniqueness and elegance of the kitenge, reviving an age-old craft that is virtually unknown outside of Africa.
Our Story
My loving mum, was a professional tailor born in the small Tanzanian village of Kiboroloni Moshi before marring my Kenyan father and moving to his homeland.
Even though she became a housewife, she retained her passion for tailoring but only kitenge fabrics.
It was a special time for me when she created outfits for the family. I loved watching her process, from selecting the vibrant kitenge prints, designing, cutting and artful sewing, to the way she would record all her designs proudly in a big brown catalogue book.
Her unique and beautiful creations stood out of the crowd.
Some of my fondest memories is seeing mum proudly and confidently modelling her curves in those special outfits. Her creations have always been a work of art bringing confidence, joy and boldness into my life.

Our focus is quality. Our products are 100% authentic and handmade with passion by my local community based in Tanzania. Our mission is to provide local employment to talented professionals in Tailoring , Art, Craft and Weaving.
For every purchase made from Afrochic sales percentage is contributed back to the local community projects including: Digging Water Boreholes, Latrines, Access to sanitary towels and Funding youth counselling sessions.

We ship to the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, UK, & Brazil. Due to COVID-19 restrictions shipping time maybe impacted. Please allow extended 7-15 business days for your order to be processed, packed, and delivered.
