From Africa to the World

Afrochic
Afrochic
Afrochic is a modern African fashion line inspired by my loving Mum, Luina Maole Nduati.
At Afrochic, we bring the vibrance and soul of African fashion to Australia, showcasing the rich elegance of vitenge – colourful, bold, and deeply rooted in African heritage. Our pieces blend traditional East African craftsmanship with modern designs, offering something truly unique for those who value culture, style, and authenticity.
Each Afrochic item is handcrafted with care, celebrating the spirit of African creativity while supporting talented artisans in Tanzania. This is more than just fashion – it’s a cultural expression, a connection to roots, and a statement of identity

Our Story
My dear Mum was a skilled professional tailor, born in the village of Kiboroloni, Moshi, in northern Tanzania. After marrying my Kenyan father, she relocated to his homeland, where she embraced a new chapter of life while preserving her deep passion for kitenge fabrics.
Although she chose to dedicate herself to the home, her love for tailoring never waned. She worked exclusively with vibrant kitenge textiles, meticulously selecting prints, designing, cutting, and sewing each piece by hand. I fondly recall observing her creative process and how she would thoughtfully document each design in her large brown catalogue book.
Her creations were not only beautifully crafted but also distinct—bold expressions of culture and individuality that consistently stood out. Among my most treasured memories is seeing her wear her designs with confidence and grace, embodying the very spirit of the art she created.
Her work has always been a source of inspiration for me—instilling pride, creativity, and a lasting appreciation for African fashion. Afrochic was born from that legacy, with a mission to celebrate heritage through timeless design and craftsmanship.
